Other Information This course is designed as a follow on from the Start Crewing and Helming Course to teach sailors how to work with the spinnaker and to learn how to compete in a sailing race. The instructor will teach the group the fundamental rules of sailing and the format of racing.

Course Description

A Spinnaker is the colourful lightweight sail sometimes seen at the front of a boat.This Course includes all aspects of handling and trimming (adjustment) of symmetrical and asymmetrical spinnakers.


Attendees would be expected to have completed the Start Helming Course or have previous sailing experience

Course Outcomes

Learn how to rig, hoist, fly, gybe, drop and pack a symmetrical and asymmetrical spinnaker
